You keep surprising me! No, I’d no idea Tillbaka till Pompeji sold so well – and in the first week too! Fantastic! I suppose it is the market – and it was a paperback I suppose? – and you must have prepared the ground really well. One of our fellow Egenutgivare here in Gothenburg, Maria Bergren tells a story about when she was getting ready to publish her book about Lindholmen (hardback, adult, recent social/local history). She was told not to get her hopes up or aim too high because “Kerstin Ekman only prints 500 copies of her books”. Maria said, well I’ll have 3000 of mine – and now nearly 2 years on she’s sold most of them.

Why just 800 words? I got it into my head that the text of most blog articles falls between 500 and 800 words and thought I’d try to be a good blog-citizen for once. (My photoblog usually has just one or two sentences and my SEO software keeps warning me for writing too little.) Maybe I’m inventing rules for myself that are silly. But I do have a tendency to run on. Brevity is the soul of wit, and I’d like to be witty.
